Accessibility

We want anyone to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Here is what we do to get there and how to let us know if something does not work for you.

Our commitment

We work to make the site meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, the reference standard for the federal Department of Justice and most organizations. We review it with every change and fix what we find.

What the site already does

Declares the language of every page, Spanish or English, so screen readers pronounce the text correctly.
Has a skip-to-content link at the top of every page, so you do not have to work through the menu with the keyboard.
Shows a visible outline around the element that has focus when you navigate with the keyboard.
Respects your system's reduce-motion preference: if it is on, the animations switch off.
Every form field has its label, errors are explained in text and status messages are announced to screen readers.
Text meets the minimum contrast against its background; the gold, for example, is used in a darker shade on light backgrounds.
The appointment calendar works with taps or clicks and with the keyboard; nothing on the site requires dragging.

Videos

The videos we publish on the site will carry Spanish and English captions.

What is still missing

The site is new and we keep testing it with screen readers, text magnification and keyboard navigation. The platforms we link to, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Google Maps, have their own accessibility, which we do not control.

If you find a barrier

If something on the site does not work for you or is hard to use, tell us what happened, on which page and with which device or software. We will reply and fix it as soon as we can. Anything you cannot do on the site, you can also do by phone.
